In an emotional Instagram post, actress and singer Maymay Entrata shared the heartbreaking news of her mother’s passing. Alongside a video and a heartfelt message, Maymay fondly remembered her mother’s immense sacrifices, unconditional love, and unwavering strength in the face of life’s many challenges.
According to Maymay, it was a great honor for her to be the daughter of such a courageous woman. “Mamimiss kita Inay, mamimiss ko ang taong nagmahal at habang buhay mamahalin ako ng buo,” she wrote in her caption. She also shared how her mother taught her to love sincerely and selflessly—an invaluable lesson she will carry with her forever.
A month prior to this post, Maymay had broken down during a press conference, where she revealed that her mother had been battling cancer for almost two years. Because of this, she frequently traveled between the Philippines and Japan to be by her mother’s side during her illness.
In her message, Maymay reminded her followers of the importance of expressing love while there’s still time. She urged, “Hangga’t maaari, kasama n’yo pa ang mahal n’yo sa buhay.. yakapin nyo sila, iparamdam nyo kung gaano nyo sila kamahal, at huwag n’yong sayangin ang kahit isang araw na hindi ipinapakita po yon.”
Maymay also expressed gratitude for the “wealth” her mother left behind—a wealth not of material things, but of pure, unconditional love.
