Elderly Woman Lost Her Life After Being Hit by Car Along National Highway
An elderly woman tragically lost her life after being struck by a car along the National Highway in Barangay San Miguel, Palawan.

The victim was identified by the local police as Marcelina Paguia Manga, a 67-year-old resident of the area. The driver of the vehicle was Jojet, 41 years old, from Barangay Barotuan in El Nido.
Based on the initial investigation, the car was traveling from El Nido on its way to Puerto Princesa City when the elderly woman suddenly crossed the road. The driver was unable to stop in time.
Due to the strong impact, the victim was thrown around 20 meters away from the point of contact. She suffered serious injuries that led to her untimely death.
The driver and his four passengers were unharmed and remained safe after the incident. Authorities responded quickly to the scene and carried out an investigation to understand the full details.
The tragic accident reminds the public about the dangers of crossing highways without designated pedestrian lanes or enough warning. It also reminds both drivers and pedestrians to always stay alert and careful, especially in busy or high-speed areas.
