However, he is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands where he is faced with an alleged crime against humanity before the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Recently, amid the ongoing counting of votes for the 2025 Senatorial Elections, Congressman Rodante Marcoleta called for an early proclamation of the Top 6 candidates in the unofficial count. He ranked 6th in the partial and unofficial tally which is as follows:

  • Go, Christopher ‘Bong”

  • Marcoleta, Rodante
  • Lacson, Ping

Based on a report on GMA News, Cong. Rodante Marcoleta filed a motion before the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) seeking for early proclamation of the Top 6 senatorial candidates. He stressed that more than 97% of the election returns have been transmitted.

“As of writing, 97.23% of election returns have already been transmitted, with herein movant, senatorial dandidate Rodante “Dante” Marcoleta, currently ranking 6th in the senatorial race, having garnered a total of 14,895,858 votes,” Marcoleta said.

Based on the report, Cong. Rodante Marcoleta also claimed in his petition that there is allegedly a statistical improbability that the 7th to 12th senatorial candidates will no longer affect the standing of the 1st to 6th senatorial candidates.

“Hence, may we respectfully pray that, should this Honorable Commission determine that it is statistically improbable for the rankings of the leading senatorial candidates to be altered based on the official canvass returns, it should consider allowing the early proclamation of the top-ranking Senators whose positions can no longer be reasonably contested,” he said.

Following five (5) candidate-allies of the Duterte poised to win the senatorial race, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is disappointed over the results of the 2025 Elections. She called on the Filipinos to help make a powerful opposition.
