Rabiya Mateo Sustains Minor Injuries While Enjoying a Vacation
RABIYA MATEO – The Miss Universe Philippines 2020 sustained minor injuries while enjoying a vacation.
According to her Instagram Stories, the beauty queen-actress shared that she was accidentally hit by a wakeboard, which resulted in a chipped tooth and noticeable bruising and swelling on the left side of her face. In a video update, she showed a purplish bruise near her cheek and under her eye, as well as the damage to her tooth.
Despite the accident, Rabiya remained in good spirits. She captioned her post with, “Part of being adventurous is experiencing accidents,” and added, “Still, life is good. Thank you, Lord!” Her positive attitude reflects her resilience and optimism, even in unexpected situations. Following the incident, Rabiya visited a dental clinic to begin treatment for her broken tooth.
Meanwhile, Rabiya Mateo is a model, actress, comedian, entrepreneur, and beauty queen. She was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2020 and represented the country at the Miss Universe 2020 competition, where she placed in the Top 21 semifinals. Born on November 14, 1996, in Balasan, Iloilo, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from Iloilo Doctors’ College, graduating with honors. Before entering the pageant scene, she worked as a lecturer and review coordinator.
Rabiya gained widespread recognition after winning Miss Iloilo Universe 2020, which led her to secure the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She went on to represent the Philippines in Miss Universe 2020, where she achieved a Top 21 placement. Following her pageant success, Rabiya pursued a career in acting and hosting. She made her acting debut in 2021 and signed with GMA Network, appearing in shows like Agimat ng Agila and Royal Blood. She also became a regular host on the variety show Bubble Gang in 2024.
