Kitkat Reacts to Gene Padilla’s Wedding Rant
KITKAT – The singer-comedienne publicly reacted to Gene Padilla’s recent comments about the wedding of Claudia Barretto, daughter of Dennis Padilla and Marjorie Barretto. Her response came after Marjorie strongly addressed Gene’s involvement in the issue through a vlog interview.
The controversy started when Gene Padilla defended his brother, Dennis Padilla, who was reportedly hurt after being left out of his daughter Claudia’s wedding program. Gene shared that he and Dennis traveled early from Bulacan and arrived at the Alabang church before the ceremony.
To their surprise, Dennis was not included in the official lineup and wasn’t asked to walk Claudia down the aisle. Gene said no one informed them of this, and they were simply told to sit anywhere. After taking a photo with the newlyweds, Dennis—visibly emotional—chose to leave the event quietly.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Marjorie Barretto clarified that only Dennis and their mother, Catalina Baldivia, were officially invited to the wedding—not Gene. She questioned why Gene publicly commented when he had no role in the event and added that Claudia doesn’t even remember having a relationship with him. Instead of helping Dennis calm down, Marjorie said that Gene only worsened the situation.

Marjorie also criticized Gene and their sister Jennifer Baldivia for taking Dennis’s side without understanding the full context. She shared how hurtful their harsh words were, especially since Claudia and her siblings had made several efforts to connect with their father, only to receive cold or distant responses.

Kitkat, who reshared the article on Facebook, said she couldn’t help but laugh at how Gene was “shut down.” She clarified that she had no personal interest in the drama between Dennis and Marjorie but found Gene’s public correction amusing.
She also revealed that she and Gene had a past falling-out, accusing him of siding with people who wronged her, even though she once defended him. She added that the betrayal happened while she was pregnant, which made the experience even more painful.
