BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President released his message for the Filipino people this Holy Week 2025.

Among the many nations across the globe, one of the countries that greatly observes the Holy Week celebration every year is the Philippines. Being a Christian country, there is a huge populace of Catholic devotees who really practice the observance of the religious event that commemorates Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection.

The Holy Week spans from the Palm Sunday to the Easter Sunday. This year, the Holy Week 2025 has started yesterday, April 13, when the Catholics celebrated the Palm Sunday. Three (3) of the holidays declared by Pres. Bongbong Marcos this April 2025 are in line with the religious observance.

As the Holy Week 2025 begins, Pres. Bongbong Marcos has issued a message to the Filipinos calling on the people to remain “resilient” and “optimistic in life”. Based on a report on Inquirer, the Chief Executive also called on the Filipinos to take a break from their daily routine and reflect on God’s “perfect example of compassion and self-giving”.

“Our Savior knew that the path of Calvary was not an easy journey. Yet, in dutiful obedience to the Father’s will, He fulfilled His mission, enduring hardships, and suffering, all in the name of love,” Marcos said.

The President reiterated that it is through Jesus Christ’ sufferings and victorious mission that mankind got the gift of salvation. He stressed his hope that the Filipino people, like Jesus, will remain resilient and positive in life regardless of the challenges that will come our way.

Based on the report, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also expressed his hope that all the adversities will shape us into better people. He stressed that the death of Jesus Christ in the cross show that humans are bound for greater things despite our frailties and limitations.

“May all the adversities that we face shape us into better persons, capable of understanding and charity towards our brethren,” the President said.

Marcos reminded the Filipinos of the comfort that the Easter brings. He hopes that the realization that “a loving God embraced humanity to be with us” will be an inspiration through the challenges and an encouragement to everyone.

According to the President, he hopes that the Filipinos will regain strength in the presence of their families and loved ones to have more dedication in fulfilling the will of God. This Holy Week, it is expected that many Filipinos will observe the Holy Week traditions in the Philippines once again.
