Tricycle Driver that Drove for Coronavirus Patients in PH Isolated
DRIVER – The authorities were able to locate the tricycle driver that had a contact with the coronavirus patients in the Philippines.
Last Thursday, the Filipinos faced the alarming confirmation that the 2019 novel coronavirus has already reached the Philippines. A Chinese woman aging 38 years old became the first coronavirus case in the Philippines.
The woman is originally from Wuhan City, the epicenter of the nCoV outbreak. She and her partner, a 44-year-old Chinese man, flew to the Philippines from Hong Kong.
The Chinese arrived in the Philippines in January 21. They visited Cebu and Dumaguete. It was in January 25 when she got admitted to San Lazaro Hospital in Manila.
After confirming that the Chinese woman is positive for the 2019 novel coronavirus, the authorities traced the individuals they had a contact with. These people include the passengers in the flights they took, the personnel in the hotels where they stayed, and the drivers who drove for them.
Based on a post on DYHB‘s Facebook page, the tricycle driver who had a contact with the coronavirus patients in PH has already been located. He is now isolated from his family.
Reportedly, the man drove for the Chinese couple from Dumaguete City to a resort in Dauin, Negros Oriental. The province gave him a Php 5,000-financial assistance while he is being isolated.
