Pres. Bongbong Marcos Continues To Lead Alyansa Senatorial Slate Endorsement in Campaign Sorties

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President changed the chant of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago after his sister, Senator Imee Marcos, left the slate.

Countless Filipinos are currently confused about the status of the relationship between the Marcos siblings. Visibly, the President and his Senator sister do not share the same stand on the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte which caused political turmoil in the Philippines.

Sen. Imee Marcos has officially left the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago which is led by Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Her decision came after skipping the campaign sorties of the grand alliance in Tacloban and in the huge province of Cavite.

However, during the campaign rally of the Alyansa in Cavite, Pres. Bongbong Marcos made no mention of his sister, Imee, which caught the attention of countless Filipinos. Thus, when she left the Alyansa, the Senator seemingly took swipe at the President for not endorsing her when she skipped the campaign rally.

Sen. Marcos previously said she wanted to shed light on the arrest of former Pres. Duterte, thus, she decided to skip the campaign rallies. The Senator claimed that she cannot accept what was done to the former President. She led the Senate committee investigation on the arrest of the former President that earned her brother countless criticisms.

Recently, the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago conducted a campaign rally in Antipolo, Rizal. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos changed the chant of the Alyansa after his sister, Imee, has left the senatorial slate of the administration.

Previously, Marcos Jr. ended his speeches chanting, “Labingdalawa, Alyansa!” Here are the senators endorsed by Marcos Jr. prior to his sister leaving the admin’s slate:

  • Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos
  • Sen. Francis Tolentino
  • Sen. Imee Marcos
  • former Sen. Manny Pacquiao
  • Sen. Pia Cayetano
  • Makati City Mayor Abby Binay
  • Sen. Lito Lapid
  • Sen. Ramon ”Bong” Revilla Jr.
  • former Senator Panfilo Lacson
  • Deputy Speaker Camille Villar
  • former Social Welfare and Development Secretary Erwin Tulfo
  • former Senator Vicente Sotto III

Based on the report, at the campaign rally in Rizal, the President chanted “Alyansa all the way!” It is the first time that the President and the alliance campaign since the Senator left the slate.

“Kaya sa Mayo po, ‘wag na kayong magdalawang isip. Alyansa all the way! Alyansa sa bagong Pilipinas!” the President said.

Sen. Imee Marcos believes that the investigation of the Senate on Duterte’s arrest might have angered her brother. At the recent Senate inquiry, Sen. Imee Marcos accused the cabinet officials of using their executive privilege in allegedly “hiding truths”.
