Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Talks to VP Sara over his Situation Inside the Detention Facility
RODRIGO DUTERTE – The Philippines’ former President likened his detention place in the Hague, Netherlands to staying in a “hotel”.
Currently, countless Filipinos who support Duterte call on the government and the Supreme Court to return the former President to the Philippines. However, as for Justice Secretary Boying Remulla, Duterte being under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC) is a “done deal”.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is currently detained in the Hague Penitentiary Institution. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously said the elder Duterte is staying at the hospital area of the detention facility.
According to VP Sara, the doctors did not release Duterte. Former presidential spokesman Harry Roque previously expressed that the former President is being monitored after he was only given alternatives of his medicines. Meanwhile, his camp already had his medicines delivered.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said that the doctors already noted the prescriptions of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s medicines. She was also able to talk to the former President.
Based on a report on GMA News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said she was not able to personally see the area where former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is detained but he has described it to her. The former Chief Executive likened it to a hotel.
Vice Pres. Duterte also noted the friendly persona of the former President that enables him to charm everyone inside the facility. According to the Vice President, based on her knowledge of the situation inside, only one detainee is staying per room, thus, she is not sure if the former President also gets to see the other detainees inside the facility.
Previously, Vice Pres. Duterte claimed that her dad, Rodrigo, wants her to immediately go home to the Philippines. According to her, she will just talk to his legal team and head back home to the country as requested.
