Sen. Imee Marcos Apologizes for Skipping Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago Campaign Rally in Tacloban
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator admitted she cannot accept what happened to former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, thus, she will skip the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago campaign rally in Tacloban.
The arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte and his immediate transfer to The Hague in the Netherlands for the trial earned the government criticisms. Countless people blamed Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the Philippine government for allowing it.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) played a role in the arrest of FPRRD. He just arrived from Hong Kong for the supposed PDP-Laban campaign sortie when the unexpected events happened. The Hong Kong authorities reportedly do not allow campaign in public assemblies, thus, they had a thanksgiving event of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ instead.
On the same day when he was arrested, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte was flown out from the Philippines to Dubai en route to the Netherlands. Malacañang said that Duterte’s arrest is surrendering a Filipino accused of crimes.

For his part, Pres. Bongbong Marcos insisted that the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was done in a legal manner. According to him, the move of the government is in line with its commitment with the Interpol and not because the arrest warrant was from the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Marcos Jr. also junked the allegations that the move is political. According to the Chief Executive, the government is just doing its job and the Duterte-ICC issue has long started even before he assumed the presidency.
The sister of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, Sen. Imee Marcos, is one of those shocked by the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. According to her, she cannot believe the turn of events. She stressed that there is allegedly a pattern of conflicts going on and it is not benefitting the Filipinos.

Recently, on social media, Sen. Imee Marcos posted an apology for the people of Tacloban saying she will skip the campaign rally of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago today. The grand alliance is led by her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, and she is one of the senatorial bets endorsed by the alliance.
According to Sen. Imee Marcos, she cannot accept what was done to former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. She stated in her post that she is studying the events in line with his arrest to give clarity to the nation.
“HINDI KO MATANGGAP ANG GINAWA KAY FPRRD. Pinag-aaralan ko ang mga pangyayari upang maliwanagan ang sambayanan, makabuo ng makatotohanang solusyon patungkol sa pagtangay sa dating pangulo,” the Senator wrote.
Several other senators reacted to the arrest of the former Chief Executive on Monday. Duterte’s ally Sen. Bato dela Rosa called it a “betrayal to the max” by Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
