Former VP Leni Robredo Campaigns for Former Senators Kiko Pangilinan, Bam Aquino in Iloilo
LENI ROBREDO – A statement of the former Vice President during a campaign rally in Iloilo created buzz on social media.
During the 2022 Elections, one of the provinces that greatly supported the Leni-Kiko tandem was Iloilo. The campaign sorties of the tandem were filled with Ilonggos cheering immensely for them and their senatorial slate members. However, the results did not favor the tandem.
Former Vice Pres. Robredo lost to Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Former Sen. Kiko Pangilinan also did not make it to the vice presidential position won by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The BBM-Sara tandem also had huge supporters but many of them were left confused now after the two (2) politicians’ relationship turned sour.
Despite the loss of the Leni-Kiko tandem, political analysts believed that it was their campaign that will live on in the history of the Philippines and the hearts of the Filipino people who supported the pair and their team. There were countless devoted supporters of the tandem.
In the upcoming May 2025 Election, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo is running for mayor in Naga City. Former Sen. Kiko Pangilinan is seeking for a Senate comeback and former Sen. Bam Aquino who was Robredo’s campaign manager in the 2022 Elections is seeking for a return in the upper chamber as well.
Recently, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo accompanied former senators Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan to endorse them in the kick-off of the campaign rallies in Iloilo. Based on a report on Interaksyon, the former Vice President gave a speech at the rally recalling the crowd in 2022.
“One of the biggest crowds in Iloilo… Sino ba ditong na-broken-hearted? Kahit broken-hearted kayo, kahit umiyak kayo, wala kayong kadala-dala! Andito pa din kayo!” she said.
Based on the report, the former Vice President further expressed that the supporters are not taking a step back because what is being fought for is the future of the Filipino people and the country. She stressed that there is no getting tired if the country is the one being fought for.
“At ‘yun ang dahilan kung bakit tayo nagkakaisa pa din. Hanggang ngayon. Naghiwalayan na ‘yung iba, tayo, magkakasama pa din,” former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo said.
Amid the calls to run for president againt, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo previously said she has no plans to run for president in 2028.
