Actor Speaks Milby Speaks on his Age, the Desire To Have His Own Family
SAM MILBY – The actor admitted that there’s a pressure for him to have a child as many of his friends have their own family already.
Undeniably, the society has a timeline of when one should be settling down already and has his/her own family. When it comes to having a child, the pressure weighs more to females than males because it is believed that women may find it harder to give birth when they are aged 30 and up. However, whether male or female, the societal pressure may not exempt anyone.
Actor Sam Milby who recently appeared on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda admitted that he also feels pressured to have a child because of his age. The Everything About My Wife actor is currently 40 years old and turning 41 in May.
Sam came from a three-year relationship with Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray. It was in 2020 when they confirmed their relationship and got engaged in 2023. However, unexpected things happened in 2024 which was supposedly the year that they will officially tie the knot.
Last February, Sam Milby confirmed his breakup with Catriona Gray, around a year since the rumors that they have separated crossed the surface. Both celebrities stayed mum on the reason behind their breakup but Sam clarified that Moira dela Torre was not a third party and there was no third party.
Recently, Sam who said that he is focusing on his health and his pursuit for growth now in the spiritual aspect said he still dreams of having his own family at 40 years old. According to him, not many people have the last name “Milby” and his half-brothers don’t have kids.
“I feel the pressure honestly because my last name Milby. It’s not a common last name, I’m the last person to carry on in my family,” the actor said.
Sam Milby recalled that his father was 49 years old when he was born. He admitted that it is not his ideal age to get married and he used to say in interviews that he wants to be a dad at 35 years old. He admitted that it is a tough truth for him to accept that he still does not have a wife and a child now at 40.
“That’s something always hard to accept and I accept that I’m 40 and I think mahirap tanggapin because mga ibang kaibigan ko karamihan may asawa’t anak na,” Sam expressed.
Meanwhile, Sam also expressed his understanding that everyone is on his own journey and he also has his own. When asked about the possibility to entertain the idea of having a child outside marriage, the actor stressed a firm “no”.
During his interview on Fast Talk, Sam Milby also gave his reaction to Catriona Gray being spotted crying at the concert of TJ Monterde. The former couple watched the concert which was directed John Prats, Sam’s bestfriend. They were seated two (2) seats away from each other and the camera snapped the Miss Universe 2018 crying at the song Hanggang Dito Na Lang.
