Pres. Bongbong Marcos Issues Statement on Pope Francis’ Condition

MARCOS – The Philippine President expressed that the country is one with the world in praying for Pope Francis who’s in critical condition now.

Countless Roman Catholics are monitoring updates about the health condition of Pope Francis. Vatican recently said that Pope Francis remains in a critical condition in Gemelli hospital in Rome, Italy. He’s confined in the hospital since February 14, 2025.

Pope Francis had bronchitis which developed into pneumonia. It was earlier reported that he had “focal pneumonia” which means that a part of his lungs are affected by the disease. However, amid his condition, Pope Francis expressed his belief about his “nearing death”.

The Pope even told two (2) people close to him that he might not make it this time. Wake and funeral preparations in case the Roman Pontiff dies have started amid his confinement in Gemelli hospital.

Catholic churches across the globe are currently praying for Pope Francis. Recently, Philippine Pres. Bongbong Marcos spoke on the Roman Pontiff who currently remains in a critical condition in Gemelli hospital in Rome.

”Nakakalungkot na marinig ang malubhang karamdaman ni Pope Francis. Sa mga sandaling ito, kaisa tayo ng buong mundo sa panalangin para sa kanyang kalakasan at paggaling,” the Chief Executive said.

Based on the report, Pres. Bongbong Marcos further expressed his prayer that the Pope will continue to be guided and strengthened by the Almighty so he can continue his mission of faith and love for the public.

On the 7th day of his confinement in the hospital, the condition of the Pope showed improvement although the doctors affirmed that Pope Francis is still not out from danger. Last Saturday, the Roman Pontiff had a respiratory attack which required the transfusion of two (2) units of blood.

Based on a recent update from Vatican, Pope Francis is still in a critical condition. Millions of Roman Catholic leaders and members are praying for the recovery of the Supreme Pontiff.
