Husband Acts Single; Wife Regrets Her Marriage
RED FLAG – A woman shared that she regrets marrying a man who, despite being a husband and father, still acts like a single guy with no sense of responsibility.
In a post on Reddit, she admitted that she ignored the warning signs about her husband while they were still dating. She described him as selfish, careless with money, and easily influenced by his friends.
“I just want to vent out my frustration. Nagsisisi akong nagpakasal ako, nagpakabulag ako sa red flag ng partner ko. Feeling buhay binata, walang sense of responsibility. Narcissist pero dinedma ko. Hindi ko alam na ganito pala magiging future ko,” she wrote.
She also shared that she quit her job after giving birth, making her fully dependent on her husband for money. However, she struggled to ask for financial support, feeling like she had to beg for it. When she confronted him about his spending and lifestyle, he got mad at her, saying she shouldn’t have messaged him while he was out with his friends.
“I don’t have my own money since nag resign ako dahil nanganak ako. Parang I need to beg money para bigyan lang nya ko ng pera. Kahapon confront ko sya about his lifestyle and financial issue, tumawag sakin galit na galit alam ko daw nasa outing sya i message ko sya ng ganon. I was like wow binatang binata samantalang ako puyat at stress dahil sa baby namin,” she shared.
After thinking it over, she decided to leave him and set up an agreement for child support. “I finally made up my mind hihiwalayan ko na sya, gagawa nalang kami ng agreement para sa sustento sa anak namin. Bibigay ko sakanya gusto nya. Buhay binata pala ang nais,” she wrote.
She also mentioned that she only saw the full extent of his behavior after they got married and had a child. Before their marriage, she ignored the warning signs—his reckless spending, his bad influences, and his strong attachment to his mother—thinking he would change.
Her post sparked discussions among Reddit users, many agreeing that marriage doesn’t change a person but instead shows their true nature. Some pointed out that people ignore red flags because they believe things will get better, while others said living together before marriage helps reveal problems early on.
