The 2024 U.S. Presidential Election is over and the Americans have decided. In a rare event, another former president is set to return to the highest post in the American government. The victory of former Pres. Trump in the recent presidential race will add to his profile — he’s not just the 45th president of U.S. but is also set to become its 47th president.
United States Vice Pres. Kamala Harris conceded to former U.S. Pres. Donald Trump ahead of the end of the counting of votes. The Republicans’ bet won many of the swing states in U.S. and his votes from Wisconsin has greatly helped him reach the 270 electoral votes needed to secure the presidency.
U.S. Pres. Joe Biden has fully-supported the presidential bid of Vice Pres. Kamala Harris but congratulated Trump amid his looming victory and guaranteed the smooth transfer of power. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and French President Emmanuel Macron were also among the first national leaders to extend their congratulatory messages to the U.S. President-Elect.
Philippine Pres. Bongbong Marcos also congratulated former U.S. Pres. Donald Trump who is set be the 47th president of the United States. The Philippine President even shared that he has met Trump before and he is confident on his leadership.
However, following the victory of U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump, Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez warned the undocumented Filipinos in the United States to go home immediately and voluntarily. He stressed that if they will be deported, they won’t anymore have the chance to return to the United States once they are blacklisted.
Romualdez stressed that the deportation of the illegal migrants was a vow that Trump made before the Americans. According to the Philippine Ambassador to the United States, it is also probably the reason why Trump won because his promise concerns with an issue that many Americans want to address.
Recently, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump spoke on the issue of illegal migrants in the United States. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the former President who is set to be the chief executive of the United States again confirmed that he might declare a national emergency on border security and utilize the U.S. Military in the mass deportation of undocumented migrants.
Trump has yet to speak further about his plans but Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez believes it will benefit the Pinoy migrants with no documents if they go home immediately. He stressed that through it, they still have the chance to return to U.S. once their papers are ready.
