Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Slams Gabriela Party-list Rep’s Question at House Hearing

RODRIGO DUTERTE – The former President slammed the line of questioning of Gabriela Party-list Representative Arlene Brosas at the recent House Quad Committee hearing.

Former Pres. Duterte appeared at the House Quad Comm hearing today over his administration’s war on drugs. It is the first time of the former Chief Executive to attend the investigation as he snubbed the previous invitations due to different reasons.

In one instance, Duterte ditched the House hearing as he was not feeling well. He also claimed that he has no more money as he is now dependent on his retirement pay and traveling to Metro Manila is costly for him. He stressed that the House members do not scare him a bit.

Prior to it, a mega panel leader asked if Duterte is afraid that is why he does not appear at the hearing. In his response, the former Chief Executive stressed having no fear citing that he’s been through several positions in the government already.

It was former presidential legal counsel Salvador Panelo who confirmed that he and former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte are coming to the House Quad Committee hearing. The mega panel also invited former Senator Leila de Lima and several other resource persons to the inquiry.

At the House hearing, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte slammed Gabriela party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas’ line of questioning. It happened after the Representative pressed on the former President to answer categorically — yes or no.

Gabriela party-list Rep. Brosas asked former Pres. Duterte if his war on drugs was patterned after the so-called “Davao Model”. Initially, the former President said he “cannot control semantics” but she insisted that he answer only either yes or no which seemingly annoyed the former Chief Executive.

“Do not ask me to answer yes or no. You are not an investigator. Why are you asking me to answer yes or no? Ano ka, pulis?” Duterte said.

The question of Brosas was already answered by the former President before when former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager Royina Garma claimed that the anti-drugs campaign was allegedly patterned after the “Davao Model”. The former President denied it,

At the House hearing, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte expressed an advise to the ICC (International Criminal Court) to come to the Philippines immediately for the investigation.
