Alice Guo X-Ray Result Shows Possible Lung Infection — BJMP

Former Mayor Alice Guo Transferred To Pasig City Jail

ALICE GUO – The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said that the result of the x-ray of the former Bamban Mayor showed that there is a possibility she has lung infection.

After weeks of hiding from the Philippine authorities, former Bamban Mayor Guo was arrested in Indonesia and is now under the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP). The former Mayor who is facing illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations involvement was located by the Indonesian authorities in a rented apartment in Jakarta.

Aside from the accusations over her alleged illegal POGO involvement, former Mayor Guo is also being questioned about her identity. She is called by the lawmakers as “Guo Hua Ping”, a Chinese national who entered the Philippines in 2003.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed that the fingerprints of former Mayor Alice Guo and Guo Hua Ping matched — which says that they are the same person. However, Guo consistently insists that she’s a Filipino and does not confirm if she is Guo Hua Ping or not.

Back in the Philippines, former Mayor Guo is under the custody of the PNP as she cannot be turned over to the Senate while she has yet to post a bail on the cases filed against her before the court. There is currently a non-bailable case against the former Mayor. Meanwhile, she’s allowed to attend Senate hearings.

In one of the recent Senate hearing, Guo claimed that there was no Filipino involved in her escape from the Philippines. Prior to the inquiries, she also claimed that she left the Philippines for her security and she is happy to be in the hands of the Philippine authorities as she feels secured.

Guo denied the allegations that she’s involved in illegal POGO. Recently, a Pasig Court ordered the transfer of Guo to Pasig City Jail from the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame. The authorities escorted the former Mayor to Pasig City Jail this morning.

However, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the x-ray result of former Mayor Alice Guo showed that there is a possible lung infection. Thus, instead of the former Mayor staying in a detention facility with 44 inmates, she will be temporarily housed with isolated TB patients.

“Ngayon po ang available lang po kasing selda doon ay may naka-isolate din na TB patient so doon po muna siya,” BJMP spokesperson Jail Superintendent Jayrex Joseph Bustinera told Super Radyo dzBB.

Meanwhile, based on the report, Bustinera stressed that those people isolated in the said detention facility are being treated for almost one month already. Guo underwent a sputum collection already and if the results will show that she is negative for TB, she will be moved to a detention facility with 44 inmates.

Amid the issues, former mayor Alice Guo is “undecided” if she will run for mayor again or not anymore.
