VP Sara Duterte Extends Support for Doc Willie Ong

DOC WILLIE ONG – The well-known cardiologist, internist, and health advocate expressed his deep gratitude and emotional response to a sincere message he received from Vice President Sara Duterte.

On September 18, 2024, Ong shared the message on his Facebook account, which had been sent by Duterte on September 16. In her message, Vice President Duterte extended heartfelt support and wished Ong a swift and full recovery. She commended Ong for his courage and optimism as he publicly shared his battle with sarcoma.

Duterte acknowledged Ong’s unwavering dedication to promoting health and wellness, which has positively impacted many lives. She noted that Ong’s current struggle reflects the same perseverance and hope he has always advocated. Duterte also mentioned that her mother, Elizabeth, follows Ong’s work on YouTube and prays for his recovery, expressing solidarity with him during this challenging time.

Ong was visibly moved by the message. He thanked Duterte for her kind words and expressed his surprise at being touched by the sincere message. Ong conveyed his wish for peace and harmony in the Philippines and emphasized the need to address the challenges faced by the poor. “Thank you for the kind words VP Sara. I don’t know why but I am touched by your sincere message. I wish for peace and harmony to reign in the Philippines. So much work to do for our poor people,” he said. “I will help when I am stronger. God bless you and everyone in government,” he added.

Additionally, Ong expressed his appreciation for the Vice President’s mother’s prayers. In the latter part of his post, Ong revealed that President Bongbong Marcos had also reached out through Cesar Chavez, signaling a gesture of unity.
