House Quad Comm Reacts To Criticisms of Harry Roque amid Pending Detention Order
HARRY ROQUE – The House Quad Committee is challenging the former presidential Spokesman to air his criticisms in front of them.
Roque is one of the known personalities who is accused of involvement in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in the country. The presidential spokesman during the term of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte denied the allegations.
Harry Roque earned the said accusation after a letter of him was found inside the Lucky South 99, a raided illegal POGO hub in Porac, Pampanga. He is allegedly the head of the legal department of the raided POGO hub.
Roque denied the allegations. Previously, he attended a Senate hearing on the discussion of the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in the country and, prior to it, Roque even dared to reveal the “POGO protectors” in the Philippines. However, he did not do it.
The former presidential Spokesman was ordered by a House committee to submit certain documents which he failed to do so. It resuled to the House Quad Committee issuing a detention order against the lawyer. However, his staff in his law firm in Makati refused to receive the order.
The authorities have yet to locate Harry Roque. They are on their fourth day of searching for the former presidential spokesman in the pursuit of serving the detention order. Meanwhile, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, House Quad Comm Representative Robert Ace Barbers is confident that the lawyer is still in the country.
According to Barbers, the BID has a lookout bulleting on Roque thus, they would really get some information if he has left the Philippines. So far, no information about the former presidential spokesman’s departure has get to them.
However, based on the report, the House Quad Lead Co-Chairperson challenges Harry Roque to be man enough to express his sentiments and criticisms in front of them. The former presidential spokesperson previously accused the House Quad Comm of “power tripping” and damaging the reputations of the Duterte family.
“Maraming sinasabi itong si Atty. Harry Roque sa likod ng Quad Comm… Sabihin mo sa harapan namin ‘yan… Magpakalalaki ka!” Barbers said.
The House of Representative consider Roque a fugitive. His wife was also invited to attend the hearing but she also snubbed the investigation set by the lower chamber.
