Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian Speaks on Pursuit to Bring Alice Guo Back to PH
SHERWIN GATCHALIAN – The lawmaker, after talking with the ASEAN ambassadors, is confident that the former Mayor will be arrested in Indonesia.
The departure of former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo disappointed countless Filipinos. It happened amid her name being on the immigration watchlist after multiple complaints were filed against her.
According to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), Guo left the Philippines via two (2) speed boats which left hours prior to the authorities’ scheduled operation. The Bureau of Immigration claimed that Guo did not pass by the immigration.
The departure oif Guo was first known during a Senate session when Senator Risa Hontiveros presented a document claiming the departure of the former Mayor and her arrival at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. According to the authorities, she then moved to Singapore and is now in Indonesia.
The immigration bureau also confirmed that Guo is in Indonesia. Here sister, Sheila Guo, and Cassandra Li Ong who is also accused of illegal POGO link were detained in Indonesia and sent back to the Philippines. They are now under the authorities in the country.
Ong is set to be brought to the House of Representatives while Guo will be brought to the Senate. Amid the investigation of former Mayor Alice Guo, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian is confident that she will be arrested and brought back to the Philippines like her sister.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian shared that he has talked with the ASEAN ambassadors and they have alerted the authorities. He believes that former Mayor Alice Guo will be arrested in Indonesia.
”Naniniwala ako ‘yung sangay ng enforcement agencies ng Indonesia ay nakaalerto na kaya mahihirapan na siya gumalaw dito sa Southeast Asia,” the lawmakers said.
Previously, the PAOCC claimed that Guo is eyeing to enter the Golden Triangle, crime-infested areas in Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia. According to the lawyer of former Mayor Alice Guo, they have not talked for several days now.
The Philippine National Police is also hopeful of a “positive development” in the case of Guo. They hope that it will be like Sheila Guo and Cassandra Li Ong who were detained abroad and immediately sent back to the Philippines.
