The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 182,365 with over 4,700 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH) on Friday.
This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, August 21, 2020.
According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #160 dated August 21, 2020, the Department of Health reported 4,786 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 182,365.
In addition, the Department of Health stated that the newly-confirmed cases on Friday were reported based on the total tests done by 103 out of 109 current operational laboratories. Moreover, 3,702 out of 4,786 newly-reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days — from August 8 to 21.

In addition, the Department of Health reported 64,906 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #160 dated August 21, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of August 21 only: Metro Manila with 2,716 new cases, Cavite with 267 new cases, Laguna with 222 new cases, Batangas with 185 new cases, and Rizal with 185 new cases.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 616 newly-reported recoveries and 59 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 114,519 and total coronavirus deaths to 2,940.
