DBM Speaks on Budget Request for Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ Trips in 2025
BONGBONG MARCOS – The Office of the President is seeking more than Php 1 billion as budget for his domestic and international trips in 2025.
Every year, the different offices and agencies in the Philippines file for their budget request. The national budget is under several approvals before it is finalized and realized. Recently, the Department of Budget and Management has spoken on the Office of the President’s budget request for the president’s travel in 2025.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos has just delivered his 3rd SONA or State of the Nation Address last July 22. He proudly spoke about the programs and the success of his administration as well as the focus, goals, and targets of his admin.
During his 3rd SONA, Marcos announced the ban on the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators or POGOs in the country. He also affirmed his support in raising the benefits for the teachers as part of the pursuit of boosting the quality of education in the country.
The Philippines was recently hit by Typhoon Carina which intensified the southwest monsoon or the Habagat. The natural calamity left several cities and municipalities in deep flooding. Pres. Bongbong Marcos wants the country to have a National Flood Control Plan.
Recently, the Office of the President spoke on the budget it requests for the trips of Pres. Bongbong Marcos in 2025. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the chief executive’s office is asking for P1.054 billion budget for his domestic and international trips in 2025.
According to Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, the P1.054 billion budget requested by the Office of the President is lower than the P1.148 billion allocated for the domestic and international trips of the Chief Executive this 2024.
Pangandaman stressed in a Palace briefing that the 2025 budget for the domestic and international trips of Pres. Bongbong Marcos is 8% lower than the 2024 budget allocation for his trips. She stressed that both the local and foreign travels of the President have been reduced based on his office’s proposal.
Meanwhile, based on the report, the DBM Secretary assured that they will still continue their efforts to market the Philippines to investors as an investment destination despite of the lower budget for the President’s travels. She also assured that they will follow-up the investment pledges of other nations.
