The Philippine Embassy in Thailand expressed its “deep dissatisfaction” over Thai newspaper’s article.
The Philippine Embassy in Thailand on Monday expressed its “deep dissatisfaction” after reading the headline from an article published by a Thai newspaper.
This, as the Philippine Embassy in Thailand wrote a letter to Saravut Vacharapol, the editor-in-chief of Thai Rath newspaper.
In a letter sent to the editor-in-chief of Thai Rath newspaper, Consul General Val Simon Roque said that the characterization of the said headline from a Thai newspaper’s article was “inappropriate”, “insensitive”, and “unhelpful” at a time when Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) members were collaborating in the fight against the coronavirus disease.
He assured that Filipino teachers – as well as other returning Filipinos – were following the health and quarantine protocols in Thailand.

Consul General Val Simon Roque’s letter came after Thai Rath newspaper published an article last August 9 with a headline “165 PH teachers arrived in Thailand from the land of COVID“.
