Due to the slow pace of the RORO, a passenger jumped into the sea
RORO – A passenger jumped into the sea because he was frustrated with the slow pace of the Roll-On/Roll-Off vessel he was boarding.
A passenger was rescued after jumping into the sea. Accordingly, the man grabbed a lifebuoy before jumping off the side of the RORO. The crew mentioned that it was fortunate the passenger jumped from the side because had he jumped from the back, there would have been a high possibility of him being hit by the propeller.
When he jumped, the passenger also brought water and bread with him. During the crew’s interview with the victim, he expressed a desire to go to Boracay. The said RORO was traveling from Bacolod to Dumangas.
It has not yet been found out if there was a problem with the passenger’s mental state because, according to witnesses, his actions were not consistent with what he was saying. Witnesses also suggest that he may have been experiencing a nervous breakdown, but this information still needs confirmation from medical professionals.
Meanwhile, when someone jumps into the sea, a few things could happen. First off, they might get hurt if the water is shallow or if there are things underwater they can’t see. They could even drown if they don’t know how to swim. In colder water, they could get hypothermia, which is when their body gets too cold and they can’t think clearly.
Strong currents could carry them away from where they jumped in, making it hard to swim back. If they get into trouble, someone might need to rescue them, which can be dangerous for everyone involved. Also, jumping into the sea can get you in trouble with the law, especially if it causes problems for boats or other people. So, it’s essential to think twice before jumping into the sea.
