DOH reported over 3,500 new COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.
The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reported over 3,500 new COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to over 119,000.
This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of today, August 6, 2020.
According to DOH’s COVID-19 Case Bulletin #145 dated August 6, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3,561 new COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 119,460.
In addition, the Department of Health stated that the newly-confirmed cases on Thursday were reported based on the total tests done by 89 out of 98 current operational laboratories. Since July 27, the DOH didn’t report the fresh and late cases in its case bulletin.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health reported 569 new recoveries and 28 additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 66,837 and total coronavirus deaths to 2,150.
In addition, the Department of Health reported 50,473 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #145 dated August 6, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of August 6 only: Metro Manila with 2,041 new cases, Laguna with 222 new cases, Cebu with 221 new cases, Cavite with 100 new cases, and Rizal with 81 new cases.
