Graduating Students Express Concern After Registrar’s Office Charges Unexpected Fees
Several graduating students expressed their concern about payment being dropped last minute by the Registrar’s office.
Unexpected fees in college can be a source of stress and financial strain for students. These fees often arise suddenly, catching students off guard and adding to the overall cost of their education.
While tuition and basic expenses are typically budgeted for, unexpected fees can disrupt financial plans and create challenges for students and their families.
Recently, the Facebook page “Technopacer-Talisay” shared the frustrations of some graduating students regarding unexpected fees. The post immediately spread like wildfire online and elicited comments from the internet users.
On January 28, 2024 (Sunday). CHMSU Graduating Students raised concerns about a last-minute payment dropped by the Office of the Registrar. The school is reportedly charging unexpected fees to the students.
Former C-USG Senator and KASAMA Partylist Vice-President, Christian Paul Nobles, expressed dismay about payment changes at the last minute. He said they can’t expect students to stay silent when it affects their finances.
Nobles explained the financial strain caused by the sudden announcement, reiterating the lack of prior notice.
AB Social Science program student Jun Lanada voiced his concern, regarding the importance of timely communication to allow students to prepare for unexpected expenses. The issue starts during the announcement of the P300 Alumni Fee to be paid upon enrollment.
Technopacer – Talisay former staff Noegui Parreñas also shared his ongoing financial challenges despite graduating from college three years ago.
College of Arts and Sciences Jayvee Tordillos also expressed his dismay due to the high cost of being a graduating student.
