Rivermaya member Nathan Azarcon and Wally Bayola
WALLY BAYOLA – Netizens remembered the Eat Bulaga host upon seeing Rivermaya member Nathan Azarcon’s pose.
The original members of Rivermaya made an appearance on Eat Bulaga to promote their upcoming reunion concert scheduled for February 17, 2024.
Bamboo Mañalac, Rico Blanco, Mark Escueta, and Nathan Azarcon, who are part of Rivermaya, showcased their popular songs on the noontime show. Following their performance, the band members were photographed with Eat Bulaga hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, Allan K, Maine Mendoza, Ryan Agoncillo, Miles Ocampo, Atasha Mulach, and Ryza Mae Dizon.
However, a photo posted by TVJ Productions gained viral attention when some netizens noticed Nathan striking a ‘push-up’ pose alongside the Dabarkads. Some netizens made reference to Wally Bayola, an Eat Bulaga host, upon seeing the photo, suggesting humorously that “Wally Bayola left the group” and commenting on the “Wally signature pose.”
Nathan shared the photo without providing an explanation for the unconventional pose, leading to further speculation among netizens. Some pointed out similarities between Nathan’s pose and a private video of Wally with an EB Babe dancer that circulated in 2013.
As of the latest update, netizens were eagerly awaiting Wally’s response or comment on the photo.
Meanwhile, Rivermaya is scheduled to hold a one-night show on February 17, 2024, at the SMDC Festival Grounds. The concert will offer various ticket categories: P2,550 for BRONZE, P6,550 for SILVER, P11,750 for GOLD, and P14,750 for VIP. It is an all-standing show, and ticket prices include SM ticketing charges, subject to change without prior notice.
The original lineup of Rivermaya consisted of Bamboo, Rico, Mark, Nathan, and Perf de Castro. However, the band underwent changes with Perf departing in 1995, Bamboo in 1998, and Rico in 2007, leading to various alterations in its lineup. Despite these transitions, the band has persisted with Mark and Nathan as the sole remaining original members. Rivermaya is recognized for its chart-topping songs, including “214,” “You’ll Be Safe Here,” “Elesi,” “Kisapmata,” “Awit ng Kabataan,” and “Liwanag sa Dilim,” among others.
