Ysabel Ortega: “Enough na, na magkatrabaho kami sa showbiz”
YSABEL ORTEGA AND MIGUEL TANFELIX – The on-screen partners said that they’re not interested in becoming partners in business.
Miguel and Ysabel currently stars in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry titled “Firefly”. Other cast members include Cherry Pie Picache, Dingdong Dantes, Yayo Aguila, Epy Quizon, Max Collins, Kokoy de Santos, Alessandra de Rossi, and more.
According to the on-screen partners, they’re not interested in becoming business partners because that might be the reason for their quarrel.
Although Miguel Tanfelix said that he and Ysabel are confident they will not fight because money is not a big problem for them, he said they never know what will happen when one has a partner in business.
Ysabel, for her part, said that she and Miguel working together in showbiz is enough.
The on-screen partners said these when they were interviewed by PEP.ph at the media conference for their MMFF movie “Firefly” at Wildflour Café + Bakery in Quezon City last December 19, 2023.
Ysabel already has businesses at a young age.
The actress has a branch or franchise of the famous nail spa and salon chain, Nailandia (owned by Noreen and Juncynth Divina). Aside from this, she and her mother have ventured into bakeshop business, Maria Ysabel’s Cakes and Pastries.

PEP.ph asked the actress about her reason why she decided to become an entrepreneur despite her busy schedule in showbiz.
According to her, her dream ever since she was young is to be a lawyer but she realized that it’s really difficult to juggle law school with showbiz. She also said she thought she would stop for now but she still wanted to do something that will make her grow as well.
The actress then shared that she decided to go ahead and try to do business even though she doesn’t want to be an entrepreneur or a businesswoman.
“Dun ako nag-decide na sige nga, try ko nga mag-business. Which never ko in-expect kasi hindi ko po talaga gusto maging negosyante or businesswoman. Pero nae-enjoy ko po siya, nagugustuhan ko po siya,” she said. “So go with the flow lang po talaga ako, siyempre gusto ko pa rin ng something na out of showbiz.”
