The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines now over 85,000, according to DOH.
The Department of Health on Wednesday reported that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached over 85,000.
This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today, July 29, 2020.
According to DOH’s COVID-19 Case Bulletin #137 dated July 29, 2020, the Department of Health reported 1,874 new COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 85,486.
In addition, the Department of Health stated that the newly-confirmed cases on Wednesday were reported based on the total tests done by 83 out of 91 current operational laboratories.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 388 new recoveries and 16 additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 26,996 and total coronavirus deaths to 1,962.
Moreover, the Department of Health reported 56,528 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #137 dated July 29, 2020.
The Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of July 29 only: Metro Manila with 728 new cases, Cebu with 325 new cases, Laguna with 130 new cases, Iloilo with 67 new cases, and Rizal with 53 new cases.
