Latest performance of Pura Luka Vega elicits comments
PURA LUKA VEGA – The controversial drag artist took to the social media platform Instagram, where he posted a video of himself performing after disappearing from the spotlight for more than a week.
The drag artist, whose real name is Amadeus Fernando Pagente, made headlines due to his “Ama Namin” performance, in which he dressed as Jesus Christ while singing and dancing to a remix version of the Filipino “The Lord’s Prayer.”
As a result, he received heavy criticism and was even declared persona non grata in different places across the country, including Manila, Marikina City, Marinduque, Batangas City, Bohol, Talisay, Mandaue City, and Cebu City in Cebu, as well as Lucena City in Quezon Province, Occidental Mindoro, Dinagat Islands, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Cagayan de Oro City, Bukidnon, General Santos City in South Cotabato, Floridablanca in Pampanga, Toboso in Negros Occidental, and Oriental Mindoro.
Apparently, Pura Luka Vega has yet to issue an apology for his actions. In fact, he’s making waves again due to his latest performance, which he posted on his Instagram account. In the video, he can be seen lip-syncing to “Ang Pag-Ibig Kong Ito” by Leah Navarro while dressed as a high school student, followed by a monologue.
As expected, his latest performance has generated mixed reactions from netizens. One netizen even commented: ‘HUY KALA KO PATAY KA NA. IM SO HAPPY NA SANA!!’ To recall, it was just recently when fake posts about his death surfaced online.
Previously, Pura Luka Vega sought financial assistance for his upcoming court trial scheduled for this September. This was in relation to the cases filed against him.
