Jak Roberto: “Nagsimula yun sa social media lang”
JAK ROBERTO – The “The Missing Husband” actor recently shared how “anti-silos” memes on social media started.
Formerly known as “Pambansang Abs” because of his six-pack abs, the actor is currently known as the “professor” of the “anti-silos” because of his knack for being the understanding boyfriend to his girlfriend, actress Barbie Forteza.
It can be recalled that the actor has been a subject of memes as his fans are poking fun at how he seemed unbothered by the on-screen love team of David Licauco and Barbie Forteza.
“Anti-selos” or “Anti-silos”?
The actor appeared on Monday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” where he shared how it started. At that time, he was asked in an interview with Boy Abunda about the pronunciation – if it’s “anti-selos” or “anti-silos”.
Jak shared that the word should be “anti-selos”. However, he said he has Bisaya friends who pronounced it as “anti-silos” and most of the comments in social media posts mentioned “anti-silos” as well.
“Anti-silos” memes: How it started?
The actor shared that the “anti-silos” memes started on social media and it happened at the GMA Gala this year.
“Since partner sila ni David and Barbie ngayon sa mga shows, akala nila magkasabay na maglalakad sa carpet, which is parang noon alam na po namin na mag-sosolo po talaga kami,” he said. “Nauna kasi ako. After nun, parang nag-flood na ng comments na ‘Hala! Bakit mag-isa lang siya?’”
Jak also said that they already did the same thing last year to give emphasis on what they’re wearing at the ball.
In the same interview, Jak opened up about being an unbothered boyfriend of Barbie Forteza. He said that he’s not jealous of the love team between David Licauco and Barbie Forteza, adding that he’s fully supportive of the “BarDa” love team as it’s part of their job as actors to perform sweet gestures for the fans.
JRU: From “Jak Roberto University” to his appearance at Jose Rizal University
It can be recalled that Jak held an “anti-silos” class at Jose Rizal University in Mandaluyong last August 19, 2023. In a video posted on Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s Instagram account, the “professor” can be seen dishing out friendly advice to love-struck couples at risk of breakup because of “selos”.
The actor told the King of Talk that he was invited to appear at the university “para sakyan ang trend” at that time. He also said that there’s a meme where he was being linked to “Jak Roberto University” or JRU, which happened to be the abbreviation of Jose Rizal University.
On “Anti-Silos” Class
During the “Fast Talk” portion of the show, the Kapuso actor revealed which celebrities will pass or fail his class. Jak said that actor Paul Salas will pass the class, while actor Tom Holland will probably fail the class.
The “professor” was also asked which celebrities need to take his “anti-silos” class. According to him, there’s actually many of them who will need to take his class.
