Singer Gigi De Lana loses money for mom’s medical bills to scammers
GIGI DE LANA – The singer opened up about her distressing experience of being scammed after a car accident in May, where she sustained injuries along with her bandmates in La Union.
Recently, she went to the social networking site, Facebook, wherein she revealed that scammers targeted her, depriving her of the funds intended for her mother’s medical expenses. In response to accusations of seeking pity, De Lana decided to share photos of herself taken shortly after the accident.
Opening up about her ordeal, De Lana pleaded for kindness and recounted how she fell victim to scams since the accident occurred. She disclosed that her account at BDO (Banco de Oro) was emptied by the scammers, leaving her unable to pay for her mother’s much-needed medical bills. Her mother has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, further exacerbating the family’s already difficult situation.
The singer further described the audacity of the person who scammed her, as they had the nerve to call her and wish her a speedy recovery before betraying her trust. Frustrated and hurt, De Lana expressed her disappointment and called for an end to such deceitful actions. She urged others not to engage in scams or theft.
To raise funds for her mother’s treatment, De Lana has resorted to selling some of her personal belongings. However, she lamented in a separate post that there are individuals falsely claiming to be part of her team, tricking potential buyers into sending payments to them instead.
