DOH reported new COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as presented in its Case Bulletin #120
The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported new cases of coronavirus disease in the Philippines as presented in its Case Bulletin #120.
According to DOH’s COVID-19 Case Bulletin #120 dated July 12, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,124 new coronavirus cases wherein 1,690 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 434 were identified as “late” cases.
This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 56,259.
The Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of coronavirus cases as of July 12: Metro Manila with 459 new cases, Cebu with 273 new cases, Laguna with 71 new cases, Cavite with 35 new cases, and Rizal with 28 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 2,009 new recoveries and 162 additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 16,046 and total coronavirus deaths to 1,534.
Moreover, the Department of Health reported 38,679 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #120 dated July 12, 2020.
