With the latest UX 9.0 that was based on the Android 10 operating system, LG launched its new Desktop Mode that can support larger displays.
LG’s desktop mode may improve Android’s existing desktop mode feature in which it would give a cleaner and more user-friendly design.
LG users can access the desktop mode by plugging their smartphones to any display through USB Type-C to HDMI adapter. After plugging in, users will get a notification in which they can tap in order to enable desktop mode.
Spotted by Juan Carlos Bagnell and further highlighted by XDA-Developers, LG will be adding this feature to some of its past smartphones, including LG G8. The said feature would be available to LG smartphones with the latest UX 9.0 operating system.
According to David Ruddock, LG would be conducting the “biggest overhaul of its mobile strategy” in 2020 or 2021.
Basically, LG will be conducting the biggest overhaul of its mobile strategy in years in 2020/2021. Which, yeah, is clearly desperately needed.

Whether or not this overhaul is the right sort of overhaul, well, I think I'll adopt the wait and see approach.
