Do or die is a phrase that was originally used in Robert Burns’ poem “Robert Bruce’s March to Bannockburn,” which was written during the first Scottish Independence War. The poem’s final line reads:
“Lay the profound Usurpers low! Tyrants fall in every foe! Liberty’s in every blow! Let us Do-or-Die!”
Do Or Die Meaning:

- Extreme effort is necessary to prevent the negative effects of failure.
