The Department of Health (DOH) reported 539 new cases of coronavirus disease in the Philippines as of today, June 14, 2020.
This, as 366 out of 539 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 173 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 25,930 as of 4:00 p.m. of June 14, 2020.
For “fresh” cases, 153 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 110 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 103 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 142 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, five were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 26 were from different areas in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Sunday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 248 additional recoveries and 14 new fatalities due to COVID-19. This brought the total number of recoveries to 5,954 and total fatalities to 1,088.
Moreover, the Department of Health also reported 18,612 total active cases as of June 13, 2020, wherein 394 patients were asymptomatic, 18,138 patients were in mild condition, 63 patients were in severe condition, and 17 patients were in critical condition.
