DOH reported new cases of coronavirus disease for June 9, 2020.
The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines as of June 9, 2020.
This, as the Department of Health reported 518 new COVID-19 cases wherein 280 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 238 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 22,992 as of 4:00 p.m. of June 9, 2020.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 99 additional recoveries and six new fatalities due to COVID-19. This brought the total number of recoveries to 4,736 and total fatalities to 1,071.
For “fresh” cases, 61 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 82 were from Central Visayas, 22 repatriates, and the remaining 115 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 89 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, four were from Central Visayas, three repatriates, and the remaining 142 were from different areas in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Tuesday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.
The Department of Health also reported 16,826 total active cases as of June 8, 2020, wherein 624 patients were asymptomatic, 16,136 patients were in mild condition, 47 patients were in severe condition, and 19 patients were in critical condition.
