Herlene, also known as “Hipon Girl,” became well-known after appearing on Wowowin’s Willie of Fortune segment. Willie Revillame later decided to make her a regular host of his show due to her talent and funny jokes.

She has dabbled in acting and, more recently, vlogging in addition to hosting. Herlene Hipon’s YouTube channel now has over 2 million followers.

In 2020, she made headlines when she exchanged words with Miss Universe Manila Alexandra Abdon. They were able to reconcile their differences in the end.

She ventured into pageantry as well. In fact, she came in second place in Binibining Pilipinas 2022, winning seven special awards. She was supposed to compete for Miss Planet International, however, she decided to withdraw.

In an interview with Nelson Canlas, Herlene recalled the traumatic experience she had after withdrawing from the Miss Planet International 2022 pageant.

“Paglabas ko, siguro ‘yung ibang pulis, hindi nasabihan. Hinabol ako ng maraming may baril. Dalawa po ‘yung humabol sa ‘kin na may mahabang [baril],” she said. “Sabi ‘hold on, hold on.’ Sabi ko sa sarili ko, ‘parang ito na ata katapusan ko.’ Akala ko sa pelikula ko lang [mapapanood ‘to. Nag-flashback sa ‘kin lahat,” she added.

Herlene claimed that even when their car was moving at full speed, she and her team still felt as though they were being followed as they were leaving.
