Netizens displeased by TikToker dancing on escalator’s landing platform
SIMON SAYS VLOG – The TikToker who danced on the landing platform of an escalator while many people are passing by earned the ire of netizens.
TikTok is an app used to create short music, lip-sync, dance, and talent videos of 3 to 15 seconds and short looping videos of 3 to 60 seconds. It has more than 1 billion users worldwide.
One of the most popular TikTokers in the country is Simon Says Vlog. He has over 9.2 million followers and more than 195 likes on the said platform. Dubbed Mr. Energy, Simon usually posts dance videos as well as his trips locally and abroad along with his wife.
Last week, the content creator whose real name is Simon Joseph Javier aka Simon Says Vlog posted videos of himself on social media dancing at the exit and landing platform of an escalator at a mall in Pasig City.
While some people were enjoying his stint, other netizens expressed concern for mall visitors’ safety, saying that the content creator’s action might result in an accident. Others claimed that the content creator might cause inconvenience.
Among those who reacted is Nina Cabrera, a content creator, and local makeup brand CEO. In a tweet, she wrote: “Not these ‘influencers’ being a potential cause of accident pa on an escalator.”
Apparently, the TikToker has yet to react to the criticisms thrown against him. Netizens also questioned the management of the mall for allowing him to dance on the exit and landing platform of the escalator.
