Luis Manzano fired back to those who tagged him “oportunista” for selling N95 masks
Netizens called Luis Manzano “oportunista” for selling face masks amid the Taal volcano eruption and the Kapamilya host fired back to the criticisms.
It was reported earlier that there are people who were selling face masks at a much higher price. Because of this, several netizens expressed their criticisms on social media.
Apparently, Luis was one of those who bashed for selling face masks. Based on the article from Bandera, the TV host promoted his product online amid the eruption of Taal. He received criticisms for allegedly overpricing his products. Reportedly, the price of the masks with “British Military Grade filtration technology to filter out nearly 100 percent of airborne particles” reached up tp P690.
With this, Luis Manzano was called “oportunista”. However, he fired back with this explanation: “These were our supplier’s prices 15 weeks ago, so did we hoard ba? Nope! Nagtaas presyo ba? Nope! Did we take advantage of the situation? Nope!
It was said that a netizen pointed out that the masks that he is selling are too expensive. The host replied: “Ate, 15 weeks ago ‘yun na presyo ng N95 or N99 CAMBRIDGE MASKS. ‘Yan presyo talaga globally… tinaasan ba namin dahil sa pagsabog ng bulkan? Namantala kami? Sinabihan ba namin o may inalay ba kami sa bulkan na pumutok para mabenta? Mas marami na po ata kayong abo kesa utak po.”
Another netizen criticized him for just promoting his product and not doing anything to help the people affected by the Taal eruption. Luis Manzano said that he does not need to post on social media that efforts he is doing to help the people.
Based on the article, the TV host also offered a prayer for all the Batanguenos.
