Rowena Guanzon Praises Robin Padilla
ROWENA GUANZON – The former Comelec commissioner expressed appreciation for Robin Padilla after learning about his public support for her possible senatorial bid in 2028. The development comes as both figures appear to align with the political direction of Sara Duterte, who has also shown interest in running for president in the same election.
Padilla shared his support through a social media post, explaining his perspective as a Muslim. He emphasized that he does not take insults personally, even when people question his intelligence. Instead, he believes that experiencing criticism strengthens faith and brings spiritual rewards.
He expressed confidence in Guanzon, describing her as someone capable of serving the country and contributing meaningfully to leadership. He also stressed that what matters most is not public praise, but being judged fairly in the eyes of God.
“Hindi ko po ikinakasakit ng damdamin ang mga ipinupukol sa akin bagkus ako po ay naliligayahan dahil katulad ng sinapit na pag maltrato sa propeta muhamad saw ay tumataas pa ang aking pananampalataya at ipinagdarasal ko na lamang ang nararamdaman na pang aapi. Si atty guanzon ay kailangan ni VP sara duterte at ng mga Pilipino,” he said.
Guanzon responded positively after seeing Padilla’s message. She admitted that she had previously misjudged him but now holds deep respect for his principles and firm stance. She acknowledged that although they are not personally close, she admires his willingness to support her despite criticism from others. She also recognized his sincerity in public service, saying she now understands why he became the top senator in the 2022 elections.
“Hindi kami nag uusap pero bilib na bilib ako sa paninindigan ni Sen. Robin Padilla sa pagtindig sa desisyon na suportahan ako kahit may mangilan ngilan na di siya maintindihan at may pag aalinlangan saakin,” she said.
