Dennis Padilla Reacts to Tito Sotto’s SALN

Tito Sotto Reveals His 2025 SALN, Dennis Padilla Reacts

DENNIS PADILLA — The actor and former city councilor reacted to the newly released Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) of Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

Padilla made a short comment saying, “Yan lang kay tito sotto,” which quickly caught the attention of many people online. His brief remark sparked mixed reactions, with some questioning whether he truly knew anything about the matter or was simply making a casual comment.

According to Sotto’s latest SALN dated June 30, 2025, he declared a total net worth of ₱188.868 million. His assets, which include both real and personal properties, amounted to ₱465.604 million, while his liabilities—such as bank loans, personal loans, and other payables—totaled ₱276.736 million. He also declared business interests in VST Production Specialists Inc. and TVJ Productions Inc.

Sotto’s declaration also showed that eight of his relatives are working in government. Among them are his daughter Romina Frances Sotto, who works in his Senate office; his son Gian Carlo Sotto, who serves as Vice Mayor of Quezon City; and his daughter Diorella Maria Sotto-Antonio, who is the chairperson of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). Other relatives, including nephews and nieces, also hold positions in the Senate and in local government.

After Padilla’s comment circulated online, many netizens reacted in the comments section. Some defended Sotto, saying, “Bakit may alam ka ba?!? Madaming tinutulungan yan kaya malamang ganyan yan!” Others dismissed Padilla’s post, saying that if he truly knew something wrong, he should file a complaint instead of making vague remarks.

For context, a SALN, or Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth, is a document that public officials in the Philippines are required to file. It lists all their assets, debts, and overall wealth. The purpose of the SALN is to promote honesty and transparency in government. Officials are now required to make their SALNs more accessible to the public, allowing citizens to monitor changes in their wealth over time and helping prevent corruption or hidden assets.
