Employee Quits Old Job, Gets Fired at New Job After 2 Days

Employee Fired Just 2 Days After Being Hired

Imagine resigning from a stable job to join a new company, only to be fired just two days later. This was the painful experience of a Reddit user named Longjumping_Cat_5248, an Indian national, who shared his story on September 8, 2025.

According to his post, he had been working as a financial analyst for two years at a small company in Gurgaon, India. In July, he decided to switch jobs after being hired by a food-based startup in Saket for a junior FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) role.

However, just two days after starting, the management informed him that they were actually looking for someone fit for a managerial position. Without any warning, he was immediately let go. To make matters worse, he did not receive any separation pay.

What made the situation even more heartbreaking was that he had already resigned from his previous job, where he had been secure and stable. Adding to his frustration, he revealed that he had even trained his replacement before leaving. Sadly, the company had already filled his former position, so returning was no longer an option.

The sudden job loss took a serious toll on his mental and physical health. Since then, he has struggled to find new opportunities and has faced repeated rejections.

Many Reddit users expressed sympathy and support. Some encouraged him to publicly name the company and seek legal advice, emphasizing that firing an employee without compensation is unfair. Others shared similar experiences, offering words of hope and reminding him that setbacks can lead to better opportunities.

Several users even offered possible job leads and encouraged him to keep applying despite the challenges. They advised him to stay loyal to his next employer if he finds a supportive work environment.

In his replies, Longjumping_Cat_5248 said he does not plan to sue his former employer, believing the legal battle and expenses would not be worth it. For now, he is focusing on moving forward and finding a new job. Grateful for the kindness and encouragement he received online, he thanked everyone, saying, “Thanks for the wishes and motivation.”
