Manny Pacquiao Gave Long Mejia a Car in Exchange for a Pot of Chicken
LONG MEJIA – The comedian shared funny and touching stories about his closeness with boxing legend and former senator Manny Pacquiao. In an interview on Julius Babao’s YouTube channel, Mejia recalled the big gifts he received from Pacquiao, including a car that came with an unexpected exchange.
Mejia said Pacquiao once gave him a gold Toyota Corolla GLI, which was a very popular car at that time. In return, Mejia cooked a pot of native chicken as his way of showing thanks. He even prepared the dish at the house of fellow comedian Bayani Agbayani.
He also explained that he and Pacquiao are related. According to Mejia, Pacquiao’s grandmother had the surname Mejia and came from Leyte, which makes them relatives on his mother’s side. Mejia said this is true because Pacquiao himself told him they were cousins when they first met.

Aside from the car, Mejia shared that Pacquiao also helped him financially. He said Pacquiao would sometimes give him a weekly allowance, and even joked that the boxing champ would call him to come over whenever he wanted to hand him something. Mejia did not reveal the exact amount but said it was enough to cover his needs.
The comedian added that he will always remember those who helped him during his career. He mentioned that actor Joey Marquez was the first to support him, followed later by Pacquiao, whose help he greatly appreciated.

For Mejia, Pacquiao’s kindness was more than just about material things. To him, it showed real care from someone he considers both family and friend. His funny story about exchanging a simple homecooked chicken for a car highlights the humility and closeness in their relationship. It also reminds people that beyond Pacquiao’s fame and success, he remains generous and willing to help those around him.
