Sari-Sari Store Owner Expresses Frustration After Customer Returns Eggs Over Spoiled Piece
A sari-sari store owner was left feeling frustrated after a customer returned eggs, claiming one was spoiled, and demanded both be replaced.
Recently, De Jath NeL La Vlog, a Facebook user, shared a photo of egg returned by her customer, claiming one was spoiled. The post quickly went viral online and garnered various reactions from netizens.
According to the post, a customer had bought two eggs and returned just five minutes later, saying one of them was bad. The customer insisted that both eggs be replaced because the spoiled one had been mixed with the other.

The store owner agreed to replace the bad egg but questioned why both needed to be exchanged when only one was spoiled. They explained that it’s not uncommon for a few eggs to be bad even with proper storage, and they are always willing to replace any spoiled item.
However, they also pointed out that the customer played a part in mixing the good and bad eggs, making it harder to identify which one was which. In small neighborhood stores, situations like this can be tricky.
Sellers try their best to keep products fresh, but occasional issues do happen. While replacing a spoiled egg is part of good customer service, store owners also hope for fairness and understanding from buyers, especially in situations where both sides could share the blame.
