Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Shares Conversation with Dad Rodrigo Inside the ICC Detention Facility
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President shared about her recent conversation with her father, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, inside the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention center.
Vice Pres. Duterte is currently in The Hague, Netherlands for visitations to her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. The former Chief Executive is detained under the custody of the ICC since March and he is faced with accusation of crimes against humanity for his administration’s war on drugs.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte believes that the ICC and the Marcos admin allegedly used each other in the arrest of former Pres. Rody Duterte. According to her, the foreign court allegedly wants to push through with the case against the former President while the Marcos admin allegedly wants her father away from the country.

Duterte also called on the ICC not to meddle with the affairs in the country. Their camp is currently seeking for the interim release of the former President while they await for the confirmation of charges which is set on September 23.
According to the Vice President, her father, as an 80-year-old man, has lots of needs and not all his needs can allegedly provided inside the ICC detention center. She stressed that the former President can now be called a “super senior” citizen and may be taken cared of better if they could hire a nurse or a caregiver for him.

Prior to the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, his friend and spiritual counsel, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, was arrested by the Philippine authorities. He is currently detained in Pasig City Jail. The Pasig Court junked the request of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to be allowed to post bail.

Recently, according to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte talked about Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and their fate as they are both amid a detention. Based on a report on GMA News, the former Chief Executive likened his fate to the Pastor’s.
“Sabi niya na pareho daw sila ng palad ni Pastor Quiboloy, pareho daw sila ng kapalaran,” she said referring to former Pres. Duterte’s statement.
Based on the report, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte joked about hoping not to have made friends with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. According to him, they might have not reached detention.
“Tapos sabi niya, ‘Sana pala hindi na lang kami naging magkaibigan, baka pa hindi kami napunta sa detention,’” the Vice President shared.
Vice Pres. Duterte said she and former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte laughed about their conversation and she told him that their palm lines or fate have nothing to do with what is happening now. She stressed that it is all about politics. Recently, following her claim that she will not attend the upcoming State of the Nation Address of the President, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that the Filipinos allegedly have no obligation to listen to the Marcos SONA 2025.
