A Reddit post recently went viral after showing an ATM surrounded by a pile of crumpled receipts carelessly left behind by users. The image sparked discussions about public discipline and environmental responsibility.
Many users expressed disappointment over the behavior, criticizing those who print receipts only to throw them away immediately. Some suggested simply holding onto the receipt until a proper trash bin is found. Others questioned why people couldn’t just keep the receipts in their bags or pockets for the time being.
One commenter noted that this seems to be a common habit among some individuals, adding that if people treat streets like garbage bins, it’s no surprise they do the same at ATMs.
Meanwhile, an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) is a self-service banking machine that allows people to access basic financial services without needing to go to a bank counter.
