Cebu Rider Goes Viral for Dangerous Stunt
CEBU — A lady rider went viral after a video showed her performing risky stunts on a busy highway in Mandaue City.
In the clip, she can be seen letting go of the handlebars, sitting sideways, and even dancing while riding her moving motorcycle. The video shocked many people online and raised serious safety concerns.
The Highway Patrol Group (HPG) Region 7 has started investigating the incident. According to Police Lt. Col. Wilbert Parilla, the rider clearly violated traffic laws. He stressed that such reckless behavior not only puts the rider in danger but also risks the safety of other motorists and pedestrians.

Authorities are taking the matter seriously. Once the investigation is complete, the report will be forwarded to the Land Transportation Office (LTO), which will decide on the appropriate penalties for the rider.
Officials are also reminding the public that public roads are not meant for dangerous stunts or attention-seeking acts intended for online entertainment. Such actions can easily lead to accidents and serious injuries.

As of now, the identity of the rider has not been officially revealed. However, with the video widely circulating online, authorities remain determined to hold the person involved accountable. Meanwhile, they continue to remind everyone to follow traffic rules, drive responsibly, and always prioritize safety on the road.

Meanwhile, motorcycle accidents remain a serious issue in the Philippines. Every year, about 11,000 people lose their lives in road accidents, with 70% to 73% of these involving motorcycles, according to Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa. During the December 2024 holiday season, 71% of the 703 recorded road accidents involved motorcycles, and five out of eight fatalities were motorcyclists.
Because of these alarming numbers, authorities are strictly enforcing helmet laws and encouraging riders to follow traffic rules, especially in rural areas where many of these accidents happen. Despite these efforts, motorcycle accidents continue to account for most road fatalities, showing that more safety measures and responsible driving are still urgently needed.
