Buyer Punches Online Seller in Iloilo, Steals Hoodie
ILOILO CITY – A heartbreaking incident involving an online seller has gone viral after he was physically attacked by a buyer during a delivery in Barangay Tabuc Subâ, Jaro District.
The victim, identified as “Jude,” personally delivered a hoodie jacket ordered by a customer named “Yohanes” on April 25, 2025. According to Jude, the transaction initially seemed normal. The buyer inspected the item, confirmed it was in good condition, and showed no signs of dissatisfaction.
However, things quickly turned violent. Jude shared that without any warning, the buyer suddenly punched him in the head. When he fell to the ground, the suspect continued to punch him several more times. Jude said he tried to shield his head and could no longer count how many times he was struck.

A video of the incident showed the suspect repeatedly attacking Jude before casually walking away with the item in hand. Another man was seen walking beside the suspect, but it remains unclear whether he was involved in the assault. Jude also mentioned that this was their first transaction, and he had never met Yohanes before.
Aside from the physical injuries he sustained, Jude was also unable to recover the jacket or receive payment for it. He now plans to file legal complaints for slight physical injuries and theft.

Authorities from Iloilo Police Station 9 have already visited the suspect’s residence, but Yohanes was not home at the time. His family claimed he was at work. According to Police Major Eduardo Siacon, they could not enter the house or confirm the suspect’s presence, as no one had personally seen him during the visit.
Despite his injuries, Jude remains determined to seek justice. The incident has drawn concern from fellow online sellers and netizens, many of whom sympathize with his ordeal and are calling for stronger protections for small business owners who risk their safety while making personal deliveries.
