Kiko Pangilinan Elicits Reactions Over Viral Eating Video
Kiko Pangilinan went viral on social media after a video showed him eating with a pot lid as his plate and pouring vinegar over his rice.
Recently, the former senator Kiko Pangilinan shared a video of his recent visit in Cebu to attend various activities. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and elicited comments from netizens.
In the video, Pangilinan is seen sitting casually, using the metal lid of a pot as a plate, and mixing what looks like vinegar before eating with his hands.

Some people laughed at the odd food setup, calling it staged or trying too hard to appear relatable. Others, however, defended him, saying it showed humility and simplicity.
“Nag-enjoy kami sa mga aktibidad tulad ng paghuli ng sariwang tilapia, pamimili ng papaya, at pagkuha ng mga itlog—kasama na ang ostrich egg! Siyempre, tinikman din namin ang farm-to-table meal na may kasamang freshly cooked tilapia, mga gulay, at “buro,” the post reads.
Pangilinan has been in public service for a long time. He first became a senator in 2001 and has served multiple terms. In 2014, he was even appointed as the Presidential Assistant for Food Security and Agricultural Modernization.
Despite his experience, many still question the state of agriculture under his leadership. In past years, Pangilinan stood out for his strong positions on certain laws. He was the only senator who voted “no” on Bayanihan II, which gave funds for COVID-19 recovery, and one of the few who opposed the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.
Kiko also served as the campaign manager of Otso Diretso in 2019, which failed to win a single Senate seat.
In 2022, he ran for Vice President but lost. Now, he’s aiming for a Senate seat again.
